Grabbing SMRT – Disruptor Set to Acquire Operator [Commentary]

Disruptor set to acquire 3rd largest taxi fleet operator

Full report in the Straits Times here.

SMRT – wholly owned by Singapore’s sovereign investment fund Temasek Holdings –  is in discussions to sell its entire taxi fleet of 3,400 taxis to Grab. In return, Temasek is seeking equity in Grab.

The deal, if it reaches completion, would see the disruptor acquire the third largest operator, significantly increasing its reach and influence. This does not even account for the reach its present business creates.

This is the start of where, when and how man kills god.
